Gwangju Jeonnam Special Post Office, Scholarship Awarding and Donation of Love Fund

The Byeoljeong Post Office Central Association Jeonnam Branch announced on the 20th that it held the '19th Byeoljeong Post Office Scholarship Award and Love Donation Ceremony' at the Jeonnam Postal Service Office's main conference room.
Despite difficult family circumstances, scholarships totaling 15 million won were awarded to about 20 exemplary students, and 5 million won in love donations were given to the child care facility ‘Haenam Deungdaewon’.
This event marked its 19th year and was made possible by donations steadily collected every year from about 600 employees of 120 Byeoljeong Post Offices in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
To date, a total of 321.7 million won has been donated, including 77.5 million won to 149 external scholarship students, 73 million won to 139 internal scholarship students, and 56.2 million won to 276 entrance scholarship students.

The Byeoljeong Post Office system was introduced through a special law to provide universal postal services equivalent to those in urban areas to residents of underserved rural and fishing villages without post offices.
