In the men's golf weekly world rankings announced on the afternoon of the 18th (local time), he earned 3.2511 points, soaring 35 spots from 55th place last week. He accumulated points by winning the Genesis Invitational (total prize money $20 million) on the PGA Tour, which concluded that morning at Riviera Country Club (par 71) in California, USA. This is his 9th career victory, his first in 2 years and 1 month since the Sony Open in January 2022, with a winner's prize of $4 million (approximately 5.3 billion KRW). He became the Asian player with the most wins on the PGA Tour.
