Former Jeonnam Superintendent Kim Dae-jung Surpasses Jeju Superintendent... Tops Nationwide Positive Ratings
Jeonnam Superintendent of Education 63.1%, Jeju Superintendent of Education 60.6%
Kim Dae-jung, Superintendent of Education for Jeonnam, reclaimed the top spot nationwide with a positive evaluation rate of 63.1% in the performance evaluation of superintendents of education across 17 cities and provinces.
On the 19th, Realmeter, a public opinion research firm, announced that in the nationwide survey conducted in January on the job performance support for superintendents of education in 17 cities and provinces, Kim Dae-jung, Superintendent of Education for Jeonnam, recorded a positive evaluation of 63.1%, securing first place.
Superintendent Kim Dae-jung rose 3.6 percentage points compared to last month (59.5%), returning to first place after two months.
Kim Kwang-soo, Superintendent of Education for Jeju, who ranked second, recorded a positive evaluation of 60.6%, up 0.5 percentage points from the previous month, but showed a 2.5 percentage point gap from the Jeonnam superintendent who took first place.
Following were Cheon Chang-soo, Superintendent of Education for Ulsan (52.0%) in third place, Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Education for Gyeongbuk (50.7%) in fourth, Seo Geo-seok, Superintendent of Education for Jeonbuk (49.9%) in fifth, and Park Jong-hoon, Superintendent of Education for Gyeongnam (47.7%) in sixth.
Seventh place was Kang Eun-hee, Superintendent of Education for Daegu (47.2%), eighth was Kim Ji-chul, Superintendent of Education for Chungnam (46.0%), ninth was Choi Kyo-jin, Superintendent of Education for Sejong, and tenth was Lee Jeong-seon, Superintendent of Education for Gwangju (43.7%).

This public opinion survey was conducted by Realmeter from December 26 to December 30 last year and from January 26 to 29 this year, targeting 13,600 voters aged 18 and over nationwide. The sampling error by metropolitan area was ±3.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, with a response rate of 2.3%. Statistical adjustments were made using weighting by gender, age group, and region based on the resident registration population statistics from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as of the end of July 2023.
