The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting companies to participate in the 'Venture Business Promotion District Support Project.'

The Suwon Venture Business Promotion District Support Project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of small and venture companies by supporting certification and product development of companies within the promotion district, and to create an environment for corporate investment and attraction.

Companies located within the Venture Business Promotion District are eligible. Companies registered as factories in Suwon Delta Plex phases 1 to 3 can apply, and companies not registered as factories can apply at the Startup Support Center for Agricultural and Life Sciences at Seoul National University and the Startup Incubation Center and Research Institute at Sungkyunkwan University Natural Science Campus.

Support is provided in two areas: certification and product development. Support includes venture business verification certification, system certification, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) evaluation certification, prototype production, and design development. Additionally, biannual on-site management and knowledge seminars are held to provide companies with necessary information. Applicants cannot apply for both certification support and product development support simultaneously.

Venture certification support covers technology verification evaluation fees and review fees (up to 300,000 KRW), and actual costs for producing venture plaques (approximately 200,000 KRW).

System certification support covers up to 1,000,000 KRW (up to 80% of incurred costs) for new, renewal, and follow-up audits of international standard certifications such as ISO9001 (Quality) and ISO42001 (Artificial Intelligence). ESG evaluation certification costs are also supported up to 1,000,000 KRW.

Product development support allows applicants to choose either prototype production or design development.

Companies that received product development support last year are excluded from eligibility.

Prototype production support covers costs related to product design, 3D modeling, and mechanical design, while design development support covers costs for basic and applied design system development and manual production. Both areas support up to 4,000,000 KRW (up to 80% of incurred costs).

A Suwon city official urged, "We ask many companies to participate in the Venture Business Promotion District revitalization project, which creates an environment where small and venture companies with technological capabilities and growth potential can attract investment and form networks among companies to further develop."
