Gwanak-gu Announces 2024 Village Community Project Contest... Up to 5 Million KRW Support
Applications by visit or email until the 23rd... Resident groups or organizations with three or more local residents can apply
Up to 5 million KRW support per contest category to strengthen resident autonomy and revitalize village communities
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting participants for the "2024 Gwanak-gu Village Community Contest Project" until February 23, to enable residents to create better villages on their own.
The 2024 Gwanak-gu Village Community Contest Project supports the planning and implementation process of projects so that residents can activate village communities by solving local problems themselves, promoting communication among neighbors, and restoring community relationships.
It is meaningful in that it strengthens autonomous capabilities and expands networks among neighbors, restoring resident communities through the process of residents discovering and solving necessary local issues on their own.
The contest fields are divided into two categories: "Community Formation Support" for new communities to form initial resident groups, and "Community Activity Support" for experienced communities to sustain and expand resident groups.
The district plans to provide project funding ranging from 1 million KRW to a maximum of 5 million KRW per group, and selected projects must be carried out according to the plan from April to October.
Anyone residing in the Gwanak-gu living area can apply, and foreigners with a foreigner registration card residing in the district are also eligible. However, the group or organization must consist of three or more members.
Resident groups or organizations wishing to participate can download the application form from the district website’s public notice board, fill it out, and submit it in person to the Gwanak-gu Office Autonomous Administration Division or send it via email to the person in charge.
To help residents understand the project, the district posted the video of the online project briefing held on the 7th on the Gwanak-gu YouTube channel, and briefing materials are also available on the district website’s bulletin board (Information by Field → Economy/Environment → Village Community).
A district official said, “The process of neighbors gathering together to think about and solve village problems on their own will be a great foundation for the growth of the village,” and added, “We ask for active participation from residents so that we can create a better Gwanak-gu by expanding networks among neighbors.”
