Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) is establishing a promotion plan for the ICT Specific Development Promotion District targeting the Gaepo 4-dong area and will conduct a public notice for collecting residents' opinions from February 16 to March 1.
The target site, designated as an ICT Specific Development Promotion District by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in March last year, covers 464,048㎡. Detailed information can be found by visiting the Innovation Strategy Division (3rd floor of the district office main building) or the Gaepo 4-dong Community Service Center, or through the district office website.
The district will collect residents' opinions through the public notice, compile them, and submit them to the Seoul Metropolitan Government. After environmental and traffic evaluations, if the area is finally designated as a promotion district, benefits such as a 50% reduction in real estate acquisition tax for related industries and up to a 120% increase in floor area ratio when constructing industrial facilities will be provided.
Gaepo 4-dong is the site where ‘Poe Valley,’ Korea’s first self-sustaining venture town, was established from the 1990s to the 2000s, based on accessibility to Teheran-ro and affordable rent.
Also, being close to Suseo and Segok-dong, where a robot hub district is being developed, it is expected that synergy can be created by linking human resources, technology, and data.
