Gwangsan District Mayor Park Byung-gyu Visits Songjeong 1-dong 'Cheonwon Bapsang'
Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan District, Gwangju Metropolitan City, visited 'Gasuni-ne' restaurant in Songjeong 1-dong, which operates the 'Thousand-Won Love Happy Table,' on the 16th.
Mayor Park shared a meal with neighbors in need of care and said, "Just seeing the residents sitting closely together enjoying the ‘Thousand-Won Table,’ prepared with everyone's heartfelt contributions, makes me feel full and emotionally reassured.”
He added, “We will actively support the beautiful efforts and activities that think of and care for neighbors so that they can continue.”
The 'Thousand-Won Love Happy Table' is held every Friday, allowing isolated single-person households and vulnerable groups to enjoy a hearty lunch for only 1,000 won.
The Songjeong 1-dong Community Security Council supports the cost of ingredients based on local sponsorship and sharing, and the restaurant invites about 30 neighbors in need of care to provide rice, soup, and five side dishes.
