Jindo-gun Achieves Top Honor as 'Best Institution' in Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation

Nationwide, the highest grade at the county level, Grade 'Ga'

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, was selected as the top institution (Grade A) in the ‘2023 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation’ jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

According to the county on the 16th, the comprehensive civil service evaluation is conducted annually targeting 306 institutions, including central administrative agencies, metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide, and metropolitan and provincial offices of education.

The evaluation areas consist of three main fields: △civil service administrative management foundation △civil service administrative activities △civil service processing performance; five items: △civil service administrative strategy and system △operation of civil service systems △handling of the People’s Petition System △handling of grievance civil complaints △civil service satisfaction; and a total of 20 indicators. The evaluation scores are synthesized and differentiated into five grades.

Jindo-gun achieved a remarkable rise from Grade ‘Ra’ in 2022 to Grade ‘Ga’ in 2023, moving up three levels, and was honored as a ‘top institution’ ranking in the top 10% among county-level units nationwide.

In particular, it received very high evaluations in areas reflecting the institution head’s will and interest in civil service administration strategy and system, handling of the People’s Petition System and grievance civil complaints, and civil service satisfaction.

The county actively discovered various field-centered civil service administrations and system improvements, such as providing proactive civil services for residents and improving inadequate civil service processing practices.

County Governor Kim Hee-su said, “I am more delighted than ever that being selected as the top institution in the comprehensive civil service evaluation brings us closer to a livable Jindo that residents can feel,” and added, “We will continue to strive to develop various civil services and convenience policies so that residents can trust and be satisfied.”
