60th Anniversary Mustang, Redesigned After 9 Years... 7th Generation Korean Launch
Inspired by 1960s First-Generation Exterior
Maximum Output 493 Horsepower... Performance Improved
Expected to Revitalize Poor Sales Atmosphere
The 7th generation completely redesigned model of the Mustang, known as the representative 'American muscle car,' is being released after 9 years.
On the 15th, Ford Sales Service Korea held a domestic launch event for the 'All-New Ford Mustang' at the Ibex Studio in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province. This is a completely redesigned model appearing for the first time in 9 years since the 6th generation in 2015, newly revamped to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Mustang this year.
The exterior inherits the unique identity of the 1st generation Mustang. The upper grille and distinctive three-segment LED headlamps are modeled after the original Mustang from the 1960s. Compared to the previous generation, the rear design has become wider horizontally, and quad muffler tips have been applied. It is also equipped with 19-inch carbon alloy wheels.
The interior has been designed to have a modern look in line with the latest trends. It features two curved digital displays measuring 12.4 inches and 13.2 inches, and various themes can be applied depending on the drive mode.
A function to experience the unique exhaust sound has also been included for the first time. The 'Remote Rev' feature allows the car engine to be revved remotely. When this function is activated, the vehicle revs the RPM from 3000 to 5000, producing the exhaust sound.
High-output performance has also been further improved. The 5.0L GT trim is equipped with the 4th generation Coyote V8 naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum output of 493 horsepower and a maximum torque of 57 kg·m. It is described as the most powerful performance ever. The 2.3L EcoBoost trim is equipped with an enhanced 2.3L turbocharged engine. It reduces emissions while improving fuel efficiency. The maximum output is 319 horsepower, and the maximum torque is 48 kg·m.
In addition, various driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control have been provided. The price is set between 59.9 million and 86 million KRW (including VAT).

Attention is focused on whether Ford Korea's performance will improve through the newly launched Mustang after 9 years. According to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA), Ford Korea recorded sales of 7,069 units in 2020 but has been declining every year since. Last year, after 3 years, sales shrank to 3,450 units, less than half of 2020. Despite launching new models such as the pickup truck Ranger (2021) and off-road SUV Bronco (2022) to diversify the sales portfolio concentrated on the sports utility vehicle (SUV) Explorer, sales did not improve.
