Korea Exchange Appoints Jeong Eun-bo as New Chairman
Jeong Eun-bo, former Financial Supervisory Service chief, has been appointed as the 8th Chairman of the Korea Exchange.
On the 14th, the Korea Exchange held its 1st extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at its Seoul headquarters, appointing former chief Jeong Eun-bo as the 8th Chairman and Lee Seok-gi, CEO of Kyobo Securities, as an outside director (industry representative) and member of the Audit Committee.
The term of office for the newly appointed Chairman and outside director is three years.

Chairman Jeong, born in 1961, graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Business Administration and completed his master's and doctorate in Economics at Ohio State University. He passed the 28th Administrative Examination and has held positions including Secretary-General of the Financial Services Commission, Deputy Minister of Strategy and Finance, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, South Korea's representative for the US-Korea defense cost-sharing negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service.
