Eastar Jet Domestic Passengers Surpass 2 Million Cumulative Milestone
Focused Use of Gimpo-Jeju Route
Eastar Jet surpassed 2 million cumulative domestic passengers just 11 months after resuming operations.
On the 13th, Eastar Jet announced that since resuming flights at the end of March last year, it exceeded 2 million cumulative domestic passengers as of the 9th. This figure doubled in just five months after surpassing 1 million passengers in September last year.
Previously, Eastar Jet began operations on March 26 last year with the Gimpo-Jeju route, then expanded domestic flights to include Cheongju-Jeju in August and Gunsan-Jeju in October, increasing to more than 20 round trips per day on average.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Aviation Information Portal System, the Gimpo-Jeju route, which accounts for the largest share of Eastar Jet's domestic flights, carried approximately 1.5 million passengers from the resumption of operations last year until the end of the year. During the same period, this was the second highest number of passengers among low-cost carriers (LCCs).
