Hyundai Transys Receives EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment 'Gold Rating'
Hyundai Transys has achieved the Gold rating in the global sustainability assessment conducted by EcoVadis.
EcoVadis is an organization that evaluates the sustainability of over 100,000 companies across more than 170 countries worldwide. It assesses four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and supply chain management, and awards ratings such as Platinum (top 1%), Gold (top 5%), Silver (top 25%), and Bronze (top 50%).
Hyundai Transys, which received a Silver rating in the 2022 assessment, earned higher evaluations in 2023 across various sectors, including efforts in environmental management and the establishment of diversity and inclusion policies. It was awarded the Gold rating, given only to the top 5% of companies.
Hyundai Transys set the goal of "100% renewable energy transition by 2040" in 2021 and is currently pursuing a transition to 64% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% by 2040. Its 21 domestic and overseas business sites have obtained ISO 14001 certification for the international standard environmental management system. This year, Hyundai Transys plans to introduce solar power generation facilities at domestic and overseas sites and procure renewable energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).
In the labor and human rights sector, Hyundai Transys established a human rights risk assessment item and conducted human rights risk due diligence at its domestic business sites. This year, the due diligence will be expanded to all overseas business sites.
In the supply chain management sector, Hyundai Transys started ESG-related training with 15 partner companies in 2021, expanded to 91 in 2022, and provided training and strengthened evaluations for over 130 partner companies last year. This is to lead the establishment of a sustainable supply chain.
