Hana Securities forecasted on the 6th that Deepnoid's sales will increase as it enters the generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based machine vision solution market.
Deepnoid signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for collaboration on supplying machine vision AI solutions with Cognex. Cognex is the global market leader in machine vision with sales exceeding 1 trillion KRW as of 2022.
Jung Hyun Cho, a researcher at Hana Securities, explained, "Through the MOU, Deepnoid will actively develop machine vision solutions with Cognex" and added, "Sales of the industrial AI solution 'DeepFactory' are expected to increase, mainly through Cognex's overseas distribution network."
He continued, "We plan to develop the world's first generative LMM-based machine vision solution in collaboration with Cognex," adding, "LMM is a next-generation generative AI technology that can train AI solutions with various modality information such as text, images, videos, and voice."
He analyzed, "Compared to existing deep learning-based machine vision solutions, more efficient defect inspection is possible," and "A prototype of the LMM-based DeepFactory will be launched in the first half of this year." Furthermore, he emphasized, "Machine vision relies on hardware such as vision cameras and systems as well as solution technology," and "Since Deepnoid has been recognized for its AI solution development capabilities through collaboration with Cognex, DeepFactory sales are expected to increase starting this year."

According to market research firms, the global machine vision market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 7.3%, from 17 trillion KRW in 2023 to 24 trillion KRW in 2028. Researcher Cho explained, "Deepnoid commercialized the first domestic secondary battery machine vision AI solution by securing 7.5 billion KRW worth of machine vision solutions for secondary battery clients in October last year," and added, "Additional orders for DeepFactory from North American secondary battery clients are expected this year as well."
