Jungnang-gu Implements Comprehensive Lunar New Year Measures Without Gaps During Holiday Period
Operating a 24-Hour Comprehensive Situation Room with 695 Employees, Implementing Lunar New Year Comprehensive Measures
Establishing and Operating Task Forces for Disaster Safety, Traffic, Cleaning, Safety, Snow Removal, and Medical Sectors
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will implement a comprehensive Lunar New Year plan for seven days from the 7th to the 13th to ensure the safety and comfort of its residents during the holiday.
The district has prepared 25 tasks across five areas: ▲securing resident safety ▲supporting marginalized neighbors ▲strengthening traffic safety ▲resolving daily inconveniences ▲stabilizing holiday prices. During the comprehensive plan period, efforts will be made to minimize resident inconveniences and thoroughly prepare for any emergency situations.
First, to promptly respond to various disasters, safety accidents, and resident inconveniences that may occur during the holiday, 695 staff members will be on duty, and a 24-hour comprehensive situation room will be operated. Task forces will be organized by sector, including disaster safety, traffic, cleaning, safety management, snow removal, and medical care, to establish a seamless response system.
In particular, the disaster safety situation room will operate 24 hours a day to ensure residents' safety. To enable swift response in case of disasters, an emergency contact system will be maintained for all staff, and cooperation with related organizations such as fire stations and police stations will be upheld.
To minimize residents' daily inconveniences, a cleaning plan has also been prepared. Since garbage collection will be suspended on the 9th and 10th during the holiday, a cleaning task force will operate a concentrated cleaning period from the 7th to the 9th before the Lunar New Year holiday, and from the 13th, all accumulated garbage during the holiday will be collected. A final thorough cleaning will also be conducted to maintain a clean cityscape.
The medical task force will designate and operate about 90 on-duty medical institutions and holiday pharmacies to prevent medical service gaps. In particular, three hospitals?Nokseong Hospital, Dongbu Jeil Hospital, and Seoul Medical Center?will provide 24-hour emergency care. Detailed information on medical institution operations can be found on the Jungnang-gu Office website and emergency medical information apps.
To ensure no neighbors are left out during the festive season, vulnerable residents will be carefully cared for. The district will deliver consolation payments to 15,000 households receiving basic living subsidies, 10 marginalized community living facilities and organizations, and 44 elderly medical welfare facilities. Additionally, 1,500 low-income elderly at risk of malnutrition will receive substitute and special Lunar New Year meals.
For elderly living alone, welfare checks will be conducted more than twice during the holiday through phone calls and real-time monitoring using IoT (Internet of Things) devices.
Furthermore, the district will implement response systems and emergency duty to prepare for cold waves and heavy snowfall, and will focus on resolving resident inconveniences during the holiday through meticulous sector-specific measures such as illegal parking enforcement and operation of a price countermeasure situation room.
