Kim Tae-jin, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Proposes 'Safe Seafood Management Ordinance'
The ordinance on the management of safe seafood from radioactive contamination, proposed by Kim Tae-jin, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, was approved as originally drafted at the plenary session.
The ordinance includes ▲establishing and implementing detailed plans for seafood safety management ▲conducting safety inspections and disclosing information when radioactive contamination is suspected or a concern ▲providing education for seafood distributors, consumers, and related public officials.
On the 5th, Councilor Kim stated, "This ordinance was created to alleviate residents' anxiety caused by the discharge of contaminated water and to ensure that Seo-gu residents can consume local seafood with confidence as consumers through safety inspections."
