Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is accepting applications for the nonprofit private organization public interest activity support project until February 13.
By soliciting projects from nonprofit private organizations conducting public interest activities, the aim is to expand resident participation and promote the development of public-private governance.
This year, the district has allocated a subsidy budget of 325 million KRW. The support projects cover four areas: ▲ projects to establish social safety nets and improve residents' perception of urban safety ▲ spreading volunteer work and donation culture ▲ social welfare enhancement projects for vulnerable groups ▲ cultural arts and social welfare projects for vulnerable groups.
Nonprofit private organizations or nonprofit corporations primarily engaged in public interest activities may apply if they meet the following criteria: ▲ organizations eligible for subsidies based on laws or ordinances ▲ organizations whose direct beneficiaries are residents of Geumcheon-gu ▲ organizations with at least 20 members (Geumcheon-gu residents) and a record of public interest activities for more than one year (as of the announcement date) ▲ organizations able to bear at least 5% of the subsidy amount as self-funding. However, the following are excluded: ▲ organizations with a social gathering nature or for-profit purposes ▲ individuals, corporations, political party support groups, religious organizations, or others not considered public interest organizations ▲ organizations receiving overlapping support from national or local governments for the same (or similar) projects.
The application period is until February 13. Applicants can apply online by accessing the Local Subsidy Management System (Botaem e-System) or visit the relevant project department (organization support department) to apply in person.
Whether to support the submitted projects with subsidies, the scale of support, and the amount will be decided by the Geumcheon-gu Subsidy Management Committee in March after review by the project department and external evaluation. Selected organizations will be announced on the Geumcheon-gu Office website and notified individually.
In particular, this year, the evaluation criteria for selecting organizations have been specified, and transparency has been enhanced through comprehensive evaluations using external experts to select organizations with excellent project execution capabilities.
