Jungjingong and Yunghap Junganghoe Initiate Creation of Collaborative Ecosystem for Local SMEs
Gathering Opinions on Strengthening Local SMEs Competitiveness Through Roundtable Meeting
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 4th that it attended the '2024 Regular Board Meeting and Regional Federation Vision Workshop' hosted by the Korea Federation of SMEs and held an on-site discussion.
The meeting, held over two days on the 1st and 2nd at the SBC Chungcheong Training Center, was attended by Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of SBC, executives and staff of the Federation of SMEs, and about 30 member companies to jointly identify current issues facing regional small and medium ventures and to establish a foundation for enhanced cooperation.

View original imageThe main topics included ▲strengthening large and small business co-growth led by the region ▲spreading a culture of public-private cooperation based on the region ▲improvement suggestions for policy projects and regulatory reforms. Additionally, the Federation executives and regional federation chairpersons attending the meeting conveyed on-site voices regarding support for region-customized policy finance projects, improvement of application criteria for convergence and complex consulting projects, and strengthening linked support projects.
Through this meeting, the two organizations plan to continuously promote the foundation for innovative growth of regional small and medium ventures, regional industry development, and planning and operation of co-growth programs. Since 2021, SBC has been implementing the 'Regional Industry Growth Project' to foster regional industries. Last year alone, 41 projects were carried out, linking 8,679 business cases for 2,633 companies and creating 10,460 new jobs.
This year, SBC plans to newly launch the ‘Co-Growth Network Loan’ project to strengthen win-win cooperation among companies within the region. The Co-Growth Network Loan is a regional innovation financial system that builds supply chains between regional anchor companies and cooperating SMEs and supports financing from the production stage for SMEs receiving orders recommended by regional ordering companies.
Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of SBC, said, "The role of small and medium ventures is the most important in regional economic growth and job creation," adding, "Going forward, SBC will strengthen its network with the Federation of SMEs and actively support the competitiveness enhancement and innovative growth of small and medium ventures."
