Kang Yong-seok Sent to Prosecution as Suspect in Leaking ‘Tae Young-ho Recording’
In May of last year, lawyer Kang Yong-seok, who identified the whistleblower of the recording related to People Power Party lawmaker Tae Young-ho's controversy over presidential office nomination interference, was sent to the prosecution.
On the 1st, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent lawyer Kang to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office at the end of last month on charges of defamation by false information under the Information and Communications Network Act.
Lawyer Kang named the whistleblower on his YouTube broadcast, revealing their real name and photo, and claimed, "I was at the scene that day." Tae's former secretary filed a complaint against lawyer Kang, stating that he was unrelated.

Earlier, a voice recording of lawmaker Tae was released, in which he said, "Lee Jin-bok, the Senior Secretary for Political Affairs of the presidential office, requested that I make a supportive remark about Korea-Japan relations while mentioning the nomination issue," sparking controversy over nomination interference.
