Park Gyuntaek Pledge No. 8 'Creation of Natural and Cultural Heritage Tourism Belt'
Job Creation Also Expected
Park Gyuntaek, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for Gwangsan-gu (Gap), Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced the 8th general election policy pledge on the 1st: ‘Creating a tourism belt with natural and cultural heritage to generate local income.’
Candidate Park said, “When people from the metropolitan area visit Gwangju, there are not many places to show tourists, and they are often guided to the Damyang Gisa cultural zone or forests.”
He continued, “The Gwangsan area possesses natural resources such as the beautiful Y-shaped waterfronts of Geukrak River and Hwangryong River, Eodeungsan, Bokryongsan, Yongjinsan, and vast plains,” adding, “There are also abundant cultural resources such as the Eodeungsan Hanmal Uibyeong site, the birthplaces of martyrs Yong-a, Im Bang-ul, and Yoon Sang-won, and the Saam Park Soon and Song Ho-yeongdang, so I will develop these into tourism resources and create jobs for young people.”
He also emphasized, “We will promote projects such as creating historical and cultural exploration trails, leisure lines around Hwangryong River’s Songsan Bridge, family-oriented recreational spaces like Kimchi Village, Hanwoo Street, and Horse Riding Street, involving descendants related to cultural heritage sites, designating historical and cultural tourism special zones, and establishing agricultural corporations.”
