On the 31st, Mayor Moon Heon-il and staff visited the home of a 103-year-old elder residing in Sindorim-dong to offer New Year's greetings and wish for the elder's health and happiness.
This visit was organized to promote a culture of filial piety that respects and appreciates the local elders.
Mayor Moon Heon-il stated, “We will spread a culture of respect for the elderly who have played a pivotal role in the development of the nation and society, and provide warm administration that can improve the quality of life for our elders in Guro-gu.”
Starting January 1 of this year, Guro-gu began a program providing a longevity congratulatory fund of 1 million KRW to elders who turn 100 years old.
