Kim Seong-hwan, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for Dong-gu Nam-gu Eul in Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced a pledge to create a theme park for pets in the Dongnam-eul area.
Candidate Kim said, "According to recent surveys, with the increase in single-person households and aging population, pets are recognized as another family member providing emotional connection and comfort," adding, "Tailored policies for pet-owning households are necessary."

He continued, "Even looking at the entire Gwangju Metropolitan City, pet-owning households accounted for 20% of all households at the end of last year, but there is no theme park dedicated to pets," emphasizing, "Therefore, a space dedicated to pets where they can engage in exercise, play, and rest with comprehensive services is needed, and it is necessary to lead the pet-related industry as one of the measures to revitalize the economy of Dongnam-eul."
