USFK Fighter Jet F-16 Crashes... Pilot Ejects Safely
Crash Near Jikdo, Gunsan, Jeonbuk
At around 8:40 a.m. on the 31st, a US Forces Korea F-16 fighter jet crashed near Jikdo, Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do.
According to military sources, the pilot aboard the fighter jet is reported to have ejected just before the crash. The fighter jet fell into the sea, and the pilot was immediately rescued and is said to be safe.
The South Korean and US military authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.

This is the first US Forces Korea fighter jet crash in about a month and a half since December 11 last year. At that time, a US Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed into the West Sea near Eocheongdo, Gunsan, after experiencing a malfunction shortly after taking off from Gunsan Air Base.
