Traditional Market Merchants' Products Made into Meal Kits
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok (Baemin), announced on the 30th that they will launch a traditional market service on the ‘Baemin Store.’ This service is designed to help expand sales channels and increase revenue for small merchants in traditional markets, as well as to support the revitalization of traditional markets.
With the Baemin Store traditional market service, customers can add products from various shops located in the market to their shopping cart, place a single order, and have it delivered. It offers an experience similar to shopping at a market, and customers can conveniently receive their products within two hours, which is expected to enhance customer convenience.
The participating markets are Suyu Traditional Market in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and Yongsan Yongmun Market in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. A total of 45 stores, including restaurants, butchers, fruit and vegetable vendors, seafood sellers, and side dish shops, will open on Baemin Store. Baemin plans to expand the participating markets nationwide in the future.

Additionally, Baemin plans to support the discovery of representative products from traditional market merchants and help develop and sell them as meal kits to enhance their self-sustainability and online capabilities. The meal kits developed jointly by Baemin and traditional markets are scheduled to be sold in the first half of this year through ‘Baemin Jeonguk Byeolmi,’ a regional specialty food order and delivery service.
