A couple who kicked a dog that suddenly ran at them on the street and assaulted the dog's owner were sentenced to fines.
On the 29th, the Seoul Eastern District Court Criminal Division 3 (Presiding Judge Min Seong-cheol) sentenced Mr. A, a man in his 40s, and his wife Ms. B, in her 30s, who were indicted on charges of assault causing injury and assault, to fines of 1.5 million won and 300,000 won respectively.
The court explained the sentencing by stating, "It appears that the dog running toward the couple was the cause, and considering that the extent of the injury was not very severe."

Earlier, Mr. A is accused of kicking a 4-month-old small dog with his foot around 12:40 a.m. on March 6 last year on a street in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and then verbally abusing and assaulting the dog's owner, Mr. C. At the time, it was investigated that when Mr. C grabbed and pulled Mr. A's collar, Mr. A twisted his hand, threw him down, or pushed him. Ms. B was also charged with assault for pulling Mr. C's head. It was reported that Mr. C sustained injuries including the loss of the 3rd and 5th toenails on his right foot due to the couple's assault.
