Candidate Andogeol Receives Youth Policy Briefing and Pledges Implementation
Ando-geol, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for Gwangju Dong-gu Nam-gu Eul in the general election, met with representatives of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Youth Committee Council at his campaign office on the 28th to receive 'youth policies' and discuss measures to solve youth issues.
Jung Jae-young (Gwangju) and Moon Chun-won (Jeonnam), representatives who visited Ando-geol's campaign office, expressed the opinion that the Youth Basic Act should be revised to mandate the establishment of youth centers and youth foundations by local governments, and that a youth social survey should be conducted to build youth governance within the Democratic Party, city and provincial parties, and the National Assembly.
Former Vice Minister Ahn emphasized, "Our society's awareness and response to youth issues are too fragmented," adding, "Youth issues should not be limited to a specific generation but regarded as a task of the main generation that creates future growth engines for the Republic of Korea. Policy focus should be placed on 'human resource development and nurturing' to enhance national competitiveness."
The youth representatives also argued that measures such as creating regional youth vitality funds, enacting laws to support youth startups, establishing funds to support youth entrepreneurship and settlement, and providing bold incentives to create youth jobs are necessary to stabilize the lives of young people.

Preliminary candidate Ando-geol explained, "Although the youth policy budget amounted to about 25.42 trillion won last year, policies and projects overlap, and the delivery system, including the main departments in charge, is too complicated to achieve proper effectiveness," adding, "Policies need to be linked and integrated, and through thorough execution and post-performance management, the effects of job creation, housing stability, and self-reliance support must be enhanced."
