Park In-won (88), former mayor of Mungyeong City, donated 100 million won to help neighbors in need.
On the 25th, a ceremony for Park’s registration as the 7th Honor Society member of Mungyeong was held at Mungyeong City Hall, attended by Shin Hyun-guk, mayor of Mungyeong, and Jeon Woo-heon, chairman of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.

View original imageJoining as the 7th Honor Society member of Mungyeong and the 165th member in Gyeongbuk, former Mayor Park has been supporting low-income families in Mungyeong annually with donations and goods, and this year he donated 100 million won.
Former Mayor Park donated his private funds to establish the Jaegyeong Mungyeong Dormitory, which he operated for 18 years from 1998, and gifted it to Mungyeong City in 2015. He has also practiced local love through sharing, such as donating 70,000 masks in 2020 when masks were difficult to obtain due to COVID-19.
Former Mayor Park said, "I always believe that if I have something, I should share it with those in need," and added, "I will continue to actively engage in sharing for the development of Mungyeong City and for those facing difficulties."
Mayor Shin Hyun-guk of Mungyeong said, "We are pleased and grateful to welcome the 7th Honor Society member of Mungyeong, and Mungyeong City will do its best to ensure that this noble intention to practice sharing is well conveyed to neighbors in need in the region."

Former Mayor Park was elected as mayor of Mungyeong in 2002 as an independent candidate and served for four years.
