Choi Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), met with Cho Tae-yeol, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the 24th at the KCCI headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, to discuss current economic issues and cooperation tasks in the fields of diplomacy and security.
Since his inauguration on the 12th, Minister Cho has been visiting economic organizations to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the private sector and the government with their leaders. On the 22nd, he met with Ryu Jin, Chairman of the Korea Economic Association.
The meeting was attended by Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice Chairman of KCCI, Lee Hyung-hee, Vice Chairman of Seoul Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman of the SK Supex Council Communication Committee), and Kim Jin-dong, Director General of the Bilateral Economic Diplomacy Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Chairman Choi said, "I believe we must strategically navigate the difficult domestic and international environment by utilizing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ network together with the business community," adding, "It is about the private sector and the government working as one team to pioneer the market." He continued, "Since the minister is a trade expert, there are high expectations from the business community."
Minister Cho congratulated KCCI on its 140th anniversary, saying, "Just as you have supported and represented our businesspeople and contributed to the remarkable economic growth of our country, I hope you will continue to play a pivotal role going forward," and added, "I hope to further strengthen public-private cooperation in this process."

Minister Cho also promised, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support our companies’ entry into global markets by utilizing the overseas diplomatic mission network to monitor key trends in economic security and take the lead in resolving difficulties faced by companies expanding abroad."
