Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Puts the Brakes on Together Foundation's 'Reckless Operation'
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has decided to take strict action against the Together Gwangsan Sharing Culture Foundation for violating regulations and procedures during the recruitment process of the director of Hanam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
On the 24th, a district official strongly criticized, "We can no longer tolerate the wrongful practices and anti-democratic behaviors that have tarnished the district's honor."
The district's special audit revealed that the Together Gwangsan Sharing Culture Foundation violated regulations and procedures in the recruitment process of the director of Hanam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
Last September, during the director recruitment process, the eligibility requirement was changed from "those with more than 5 years of experience as deputy (section) chief" to "those with more than 5 years of experience as deputy (bureau) chief or higher," omitting prior review by the personnel committee.
Furthermore, after the announcement of the successful interviewees, the candidate registration was not completed, yet the handover of duties proceeded, and the final successful candidate failed to submit the required registration documents within the designated period.
Accordingly, the district auditor requested the Together Foundation to impose severe disciplinary actions on the secretariat and cancel the director recruitment.
However, the foundation responded by claiming, "Gwangsan-gu is oppressing us to establish the welfare foundation."
