"Driver 250-Yard" Transgender Golfer's Victory Impact... "Gender Testing for All Players"
Won Mini Golf Tour... All Participants Underwent Gender Testing

On the 24th, the NXXT Women's Golf Pro Tour stated, "In response to public concerns about recent events, we will add testosterone testing to clarify the eligibility criteria." Testosterone testing, which measures the male hormone testosterone, is widely used in sports to distinguish between male and female categories.
The reason for introducing testosterone testing is due to controversy over fairness after Hailey Davidson (31), a transgender athlete, won the NXXT Classic held recently in Florida as part of the NXXT Women's Golf Pro Tour. Davidson previously played on the golf teams of Wilmington University and Christopher Newport University as a male athlete. In 2015, he also participated in the regional qualifiers for the US Open men's tournament. Later, he recognized his gender identity as female and underwent gender reassignment surgery in January 2021.
In response to criticism that she was able to win by retaining male physique and strength, Davidson said, "It is true that I had an unfair advantage a few years ago," but added, "I have been on hormone therapy for nine years and had surgery three years ago. When I was male, my driver shot was 300 yards, but now it is only about 250 yards." She continued, "When I play poorly, no one cares, but the moment I play well, the whole world ends," and described it as "selective hatred."

Meanwhile, after winning this tournament, Davidson expressed her intention to compete in the LPGA Tour, saying, "I will not stay only on the mini-tour." Regarding this, the LPGA Tour stated, "We are reviewing whether Hailey Davidson can participate in our tournaments." Since 2010, the LPGA Tour has removed the clause that required participants to be female at birth.
