Jungnang-gu Senior Center President Appointed as 'Community Volunteer Guide'
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) appointed 133 heads of local senior centers as community volunteer coordinators and held an inauguration ceremony on the 23rd.
This appointment aims to designate the senior center heads, who have been working to promote elderly welfare in the community, as community volunteer coordinators to manage the senior centers more systematically and in line with the needs of the elderly.
The community volunteer coordinators will be responsible for promoting and guiding elderly welfare policies and providing lifestyle guidance to senior center users for the next year. The district plans to support the coordinators with a monthly activity allowance of 50,000 KRW to help them perform their roles smoothly.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi stated, “Until now, senior center operations have relied on the voluntary service of the senior center heads without separate support. I am pleased that we can now provide support through the appointment of community volunteer coordinators, addressing the regret of not being able to assist them adequately despite their hard work.” He added, “As Jungnang-gu continues to honor the elderly, we will spare no effort in supporting elderly welfare policies.”
