The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency will directly investigate the case of a woman in her 20s from China who died after undergoing liposuction surgery.
According to the police on the 23rd, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul transferred the case to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Violent Crimes Investigation Unit on the same day.
Ms. A underwent liposuction surgery three times at one-week intervals at a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam last November. She was transferred to a university hospital after complaining of severe pain. She was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis that worsened into sepsis and received treatment, but ultimately passed away on the 10th.
