Sang-geun Lee, Goseong County Governor, Surpasses 58% Pledge Fulfillment Rate in the 2nd Year of the 8th Civilian Administration
Thoroughly Fulfilling Promises Made to Residents
Goseong County in Gyeongnam announced on the 23rd that the fulfillment rate of Mayor Lee Sang-geun's 8th term election pledges has surpassed 58%, demonstrating thorough commitment to promises made to the residents.
As of the end of last year, out of a total of 70 election pledge projects for the 8th term, 40 projects (58%) have been completed, 29 projects (41%) are underway, and 1 project (1%) has been discontinued.
Major completed projects include ▲creation of jobs for the ultra-aged elderly ▲expansion of customized employment support systems for vulnerable groups ▲attraction of various sports events ▲expansion of support for veterans' families ▲extension of the youth voucher program, among others.
Among the pledge projects, the 'Securing of shellfish seed cultivation facilities' was discontinued after the subsidy recipient submitted a withdrawal due to financial and management difficulties. Since changing the project operator was impossible under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' public project announced in November last year, it was judged that the project could not proceed within the term. Therefore, after gathering opinions from the Goseong County pledge fulfillment evaluation team, the project was decided to be discontinued.
Additionally, the 'Creation of Goseong Park Golf Course' was relocated from Gyosari, Goseong-eup to Sunam-ri, Goseong-eup. The 'Expansion and opening of medical facilities (obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics)' was modified to only extend pediatric and adolescent clinic hours due to the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Social Security Coordination Department's refusal to establish new social security systems for ultrasound examination fee support for postpartum mothers. The 'Payment of activity allowances to village women's association presidents' was changed from a fixed monthly allowance to an activity allowance.
These changes to the projects were made after collecting opinions from the Goseong County pledge fulfillment evaluation team last year, resulting in modifications to the pledge implementation plans.
