Yu Young-ha (62), a lawyer known as the 'right-hand man' of former President Park Geun-hye, declared on the 22nd that he will run as a People Power Party candidate in the Daegu Dalseo-gap constituency for the general election.

At 10 a.m. that day, Yu held a press conference at the People Power Party Daegu City Party Office in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, stating, "I returned to my hometown Daegu two years ago and have been quietly working to unite the divided conservatives so that we can move toward the future," adding, "Now, I will do what needs to be done for the revival of Daegu."

View original imageYu was commissioned as a prosecutor in 1996 and served at the Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office, Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, and Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office, among others. He also served as a standing member of the National Human Rights Commission. In 2016, he was appointed as the lawyer for former President Park Geun-hye. He ran for office in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, during the 17th to 19th National Assembly elections but was defeated.
