A woman in her 20s, intoxicated, jumped onto the tracks while the train was in operation and was injured.
On the 22nd, the police announced that around 11:50 PM the previous day, a woman in her 20s, Ms. A, was hit by a moving train on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line tracks heading towards Cheongnyangni at Hannam Station in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It is presumed that she jumped over a wall fence and ran towards the platform, colliding with the moving train. As a result of the accident, Ms. A sustained serious injuries, including a fractured leg, and was transported to the hospital. It is reported that her life is not in danger.
Due to this accident, two high-speed trains and three ground trains passing through the tracks were delayed by about 20 to 30 minutes. The train operator reportedly stated, "A person suddenly appeared and ran towards the platform."
