Boseong-gun Initiates Advanced Site Benchmarking to Link Current Projects

Measures to Revitalize the Regions Visited: Cheongdo, Ulsan, and Busan

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it embarked on a two-day advanced site visit (benchmarking) starting from the 18th to discover local pending projects and major projects for 2024.

Boseong-gun plans to explore ways to utilize local specialties by investigating advanced cases in Cheongdo-gun, Ulsan Metropolitan City, and Busan Metropolitan City, and apply them to projects such as the reconstruction of Boseong Yeolseonru and urban regeneration projects.

The visit was attended by about 30 people, including County Governor Kim Cheol-woo, employees from related departments such as the Agriculture and Livestock Division, Urban Development Division, Agricultural Technology Center, and heads of towns and townships.

On the first day, they visited the Cheongdo Hanjae Minari specialized cultivation complex and the Cheongdo Wine Tunnel, which utilizes an abandoned tunnel, to devise ways to utilize local agricultural specialties. They also strolled around Cheongdo Eupseong to discuss cases that could be applied to the reconstruction project of Boseong Yeolseonru.

Additionally, they toured the urban regeneration project site in Jung-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City to share best practices and studied ways to incorporate and introduce systematic urban planning development for Boseong-gun.

On the second day, they visited Samdeok Tongsang (Chairman Moon Chang-seop) in Busan Metropolitan City and Sejin Valve Industry (CEO Bang Young-hyuk), a leading regional innovation company, to exchange opinions on specific visions and roles regarding revitalization plans for local industrial complexes, redevelopment of aging industrial complexes, and new industry development.

Based on the results of this advanced site visit, Boseong-gun plans to introduce applicable policies and propose measures to revitalize local tourism.

Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, “This advanced site visit (benchmarking) was a valuable time to share views on the development of various local pending projects.” He added, “We will continue to actively benchmark excellent advanced cases and do our best for the development of Boseong-gun.”
