Mirae Asset's 'TIGER AI Bandochae Core Process ETF' Surpasses 30 Billion KRW in Individual Cumulative Net Purchases
Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on the 18th that the ‘TIGER AI Semiconductor Core Process ETF’ has surpassed 30 billion KRW in cumulative net purchases by individual investors since its listing.
According to the Korea Exchange, as of the 17th, the cumulative net purchase amount by individuals for the ‘TIGER AI Semiconductor Core Process ETF’ stands at 30.2 billion KRW. It exceeded 30 billion KRW in about two months since its listing on November 21, 2023. During the same period, it recorded the largest individual net purchase amount among 11 semiconductor investment ETFs listed domestically.
The ‘TIGER AI Semiconductor Core Process ETF’ focuses on investing in domestic semiconductor companies with competitive miniaturization technologies in key AI semiconductor areas such as HBM (packaging) and processes below 4 nanometers. The ETF’s underlying index is the ‘iSelect AI Semiconductor Core Process Index.’ It consists solely of companies expected to benefit from the global AI value chain, including ‘Hanmi Semiconductor’ and ‘Isu Petasys,’ which can build greater bandwidth, higher power efficiency, and faster transmission speeds?core features of AI semiconductors.
AI semiconductors are expected to drive the growth of the semiconductor industry in the future. Domestic semiconductor companies, which account for about 90% of the global HBM market, are anticipated to benefit. The keyword at ‘CES 2024,’ held recently in Las Vegas, USA, was also AI, reflecting growing investor interest in the high-performance semiconductor sector.

Jung Eui-hyun, head of the ETF management team at Mirae Asset Global Investments, said, “While South Korea is leading the high-bandwidth HBM market, Samsung Electronics has started mass production using the GAA process at 3 nanometers, forecasting growth for miniaturization process companies. Additionally, as the government strengthens support for building a semiconductor mega cluster, the world’s largest production base is expected to be established, which will benefit core semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment companies within the ‘TIGER AI Semiconductor Core Process ETF’ portfolio.”
