The inspection targets will mainly include companies that manufacture processed foods such as rice cakes and seasoned seaweed, which are in high demand for ancestral rites and gifts during the Lunar New Year, as well as prepared foods like jeon (Korean pancakes) and fried foods. Priority will be given to companies that have not been inspected or have had violations within the past three years.
The main inspection items include ▲unregistered manufacturing and sales ▲use of products past their consumption (distribution) expiration date ▲workplace hygiene management ▲appropriateness of quality inspections and compliance with the Food Sanitation Act regarding raw materials. The city also plans to collect seasonal specialty foods in circulation and request tests to verify whether they were manufactured according to food standards and regulations.
The city will take administrative actions such as penalties against violating companies in accordance with the Food Sanitation Act and will conduct re-inspections within six months to check for improvements.
