I have traveled around the country looking for work but failed repeatedly, so I ended up holding a picket sign on the street like this." Mr. A said, "People are busy with their own lives, so I guess they don't have time to help me. Around 8 o'clock, I was about to give up and go home when a young man in a suit stopped me and took me to McDonald's, saying he would buy me a meal."
After being treated to a meal, Mr. A was introduced to a job by the young man's older brother. Thanks to this, Mr. A was assigned to equipment hook-up work such as cable laying, terminal, and tray installation at the Samsung Display plant in Asan, Chungnam. The work will start on February 1, with working hours from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and the daily wage including meal allowance is known to be about 160,000 KRW.
Mr. A said, "I know this is a job people avoid, but I am not in a position to be picky," and added, "I signed the contract right away and decided to work. Now I have to live diligently."
Netizens who read the story sent messages of support to Mr. A, such as "It's tough, but I'm glad you found a job," "This makes me tear up. Hang in there and succeed," and "With that kind of spirit, you'll succeed wherever you work."
