View original imageSouth Korea, the United States, and Japan's senior nuclear representatives on North Korea will share information and assessments on North Korea's military provocations and discuss response measures in Seoul on the 18th.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 16th, Kim Gun, head of the Korean Peninsula Peace Negotiation Headquarters, will hold a trilateral North Korea nuclear senior representatives meeting in Seoul on the 18th with Jeffrey Park, the U.S. State Department's senior official for North Korea, and Namazu Hiroyuki, Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau at Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "The senior representatives of the three countries will share evaluations on recent North Korean provocations, escalating tensions, Russia-North Korea exchanges, military cooperation, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and discuss response measures during this meeting."
Earlier, on the 14th, they shared assessments on North Korea's intermediate-range ballistic missile launch and Russia-North Korea military cooperation through a phone call. The three representatives stated that the more North Korea repeats provocations, the stronger the security cooperation among South Korea, the U.S., and Japan will become, and that the international community's cooperation on North Korea will also become more solid.
Meanwhile, the government announced that it will provide an additional $8 million (approximately 10.66 billion KRW) in humanitarian aid to assist civilians affected by the war between Israel and Hamas.
