Bucheon City Launches Pilot Project for Long-term Care Home Medical Centers... Operates Two Clinics of Western and Korean Medicine
Bucheon City in Gyeonggi announced on the 16th that Jungdong Korean Medicine Clinic has been selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Long-term Care Home Medical Center Pilot Project.' This makes it the second long-term care home medical center in the region, following the Bucheon Citizens' Clinic of the Bucheon Medical Welfare Social Cooperative.
The Home Medical Center Pilot Project provides multidisciplinary home medical teams (doctors, nurses, social workers) who visit and offer services to long-term care recipients (grades 1 to 5) who have mobility difficulties and require home medical care. This enables comprehensive support including the linkage and monitoring of medical, nursing, and care services.
The Bucheon Citizens' Clinic of the Bucheon Medical Welfare Social Cooperative has been designated as Bucheon City's home medical center since 2022, receiving positive responses from recipients in need of continuous care within the region. Starting this year, Jungdong Korean Medicine Clinic has been additionally selected, allowing more citizens to receive care services.
In particular, with the expansion to include Korean medicine clinics alongside existing Western medicine clinics, care recipients can choose from a variety of medical services according to their needs, and receive professional health and medical services at home without hospital admission or facility placement.
