The Korea Economic Critics Association was established with the purpose of conducting economic critiques for the nation, regardless of ruling or opposition parties, and is co-hosted by Yoon Sang-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, and Kim Byung-wook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea. The event is organized by Sejong University and Infostock.
Shin Se-don, president of the Korea Economic Critics Association, stated, "Based on accurate statistics and facts, with a thorough and profound understanding of theory, we will avoid errors of abstraction," and added, "We will strive to enhance the welfare of the nation and its people solely through sound economic discourse, free from political frames, ideological frames, or prejudiced frames."
Kim Dae-jong, professor of the Department of Business Administration at Sejong University, emphasized, "The government must thoroughly prepare for the expansion of the Middle East war," and proposed, "To raise the economic growth rate to 5%, we suggest lowering the corporate tax to 12%, labor-management reform and innovation, deregulation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and overseas expansion, and doubling foreign exchange reserves."
