UK Prime Minister Visits Ukraine with '4.2 Trillion Won' Support Plan
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made a surprise visit to Kyiv, Ukraine, on the 12th (local time) and announced a military aid plan worth 4.2 trillion won, according to BBC and other reports.
The UK Prime Minister's Office stated that Prime Minister Sunak met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the day and announced that the UK will provide military aid worth up to ?2.5 billion (approximately 4.2 trillion won) to Ukraine this year.
The aid items include long-range missiles, air defense, shells, drones, and notably, the drone support amount (?200 million) is the largest compared to other countries.
On his way to Ukraine, Prime Minister Sunak said, "Today, I have brought one message: that the UK is unwavering," adding, "We will stand with Ukraine through the toughest times and the best."
The Prime Minister's Office also reported that Sunak will sign an agreement for long-term security cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister's Office explained, "This is the first step toward an unwavering 100-year partnership between the two countries," and that the agreement formalizes the scope of support the UK will provide for Ukraine's security, including intelligence sharing, cybersecurity, medical and military training, and defense industry cooperation.
