'Sopung,' Depicting Friendship of the Elderly Generation, Released During Seollal Holiday

Competing with 'Dog Days' and 'Deadman' at Theaters
The film "Sopung," which depicts the friendship of the elderly generation, will compete at the box office during the Lunar New Year holiday with "Dog Days," starring Youn Yuh-jung and Yoo Hae-jin, and "Deadman," starring Jo Jin-woong and Kim Hee-ae. Distributor Lotte Entertainment announced on the 11th that it will be released on the 7th of next month. This human drama tells the story of two friends, who are also in-laws, traveling together to their hometown Namhae after 60 years and revisiting memories from when they were sixteen. Na Moon-hee plays Eun-sim, who keeps dreaming of her late mother and returns to her hometown, while Kim Young-ok portrays Geum-soon, her friend and in-law. Park Geun-hyung takes on the role of Tae-ho, Eun-sim’s childhood crush and a longtime guardian of their hometown. The film is directed by Kim Yong-gyun, who has helmed various genre works such as "Wanee & Junah" (2001), "Pink Shoes" (2005), "Like Fire, Like Butterfly" (2009), and "The Webtoon: The Precipice" (2013).
