Guro-gu Holds 2024 New Year's Meeting... "Pledging a Greater Leap to Open the Future"

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) held the "2024 Guro-gu New Year's Meeting" on the 10th at the Grand Ballroom Hall on the 11th floor of Sindorim Technomart.
About 1,000 people attended the New Year's meeting, including Guro-gu Mayor Moon Heon-il, members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, heads of related organizations, leaders of major groups, functional organizations of the district and neighborhood, key figures, and local residents.
The event proceeded in the order of welcoming guests, congratulatory performances, opening and national anthem, introduction of guests, video screening, New Year's address, New Year's greetings, and a toast proposal. The musical performance team "Musical Singers" delivered a spectacular performance, heating up the atmosphere of the event.
Also, a video titled "Into the 2024 Guro Sunrise Scenery," featuring scenes from the sunrise event held at the summit of Maebongsan on the 1st, was screened, attracting the attention of the attendees.
A district official explained, "In preparation for more residents attending this year, a large monitor was installed outside the venue so that residents who could not enter the venue could also watch. During the event, a sign language interpreter was separately assigned for the hearing impaired, focusing on communication and harmony with all residents."
Guro-gu Mayor Moon Heon-il expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of the residents over the past year in his New Year's address and announced the 2024 district administration plan.
Specifically, the plans include △ urban development to renovate the city and expand urban infrastructure △ a warm companion city with robust welfare △ a smart economic city with many jobs attracting people △ a sustainable safe city and environmental city △ an educational city where children are happy and a city where culture flows in daily life.
In the following New Year's greeting session, local National Assembly members, Guro-gu Council Chairperson Kwak Yun-hee, city and district council members, and heads of institutions and organizations took the stage to share New Year's greetings and well wishes.
A Guro-gu official said, "We hope this New Year's meeting will give hope and courage to the residents in the Year of the Rabbit and serve as an opportunity to open 'Warm Companionship, Changing Guro' together."
