Pyeongtaek City Operates AI Care Service for Seniors 'Haengbok Deungdae Jigi'
Companion Talk, News, and Emergency Rescue Services via AI Speaker
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 10th that it will operate the '24-hour Happiness Lighthouse Keeper' service using artificial intelligence (AI) year-round for elderly people with dementia and cognitive impairments.
This service installs AI speakers in each household, providing functions such as companionship, music listening, medication and meal schedule alarms, religious messages, date, weather, news updates, and emergency rescue services. Additionally, cognitive and physical training services that support systematic health management for the elderly are also available.
The usage period is one year from the application date and can be extended for an additional year. Upon new application, staff visit the recipient's home to install the device and provide usage instructions, and in case of errors during use, management is conducted through phone or on-site inspections.
