Gwon Ki-chang, Mayor of Andong City, participated in the ‘Bye-Bye Plastic Challenge’ to reduce plastic use in daily life.
This challenge is a nationwide campaign led by the Ministry of Environment and spread through local governments and companies to reduce plastic use in everyday life. Representatives of nominated institutions or companies, or ordinary citizens, post on SNS about their personal efforts to reduce plastic use and then nominate the next participant.
On the 4th, after being nominated by Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, Gwon Ki-chang, Mayor of Andong City, posted on his personal SNS about his commitment to reducing single-use products and his future determination, nominating Jeong Pil-gyu, Head of Andong Tax Office, and Lee Dong-seung, Chief of Andong Police Station, as the next participants.

An official from Andong City stated, “We are conducting a campaign where each department pledges to reduce plastic use, encouraging all employees to use reusable cups instead of disposable ones and to choose restaurants that use reusable containers when ordering food. We ask for active participation in reducing plastic use.”
