6,197 Applications for Public Jobs... Achieving 103% of Target, a Step Toward Fulfilling Pledges... 144 Job Projects Underway... Various Fields Including Public Work, Health, Safety, and Care... Covering Multiple Generations Such as Seniors, Disabled, and Youth... Plan to Create 30,000 Jobs by 2026
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) created 6,197 public jobs last year, achieving 103% of its target.
The district set "expanding public job creation" as a pledge for the 8th local government administration. The goal is to create 6,000 jobs annually from 2022 to 2026, ultimately discovering 30,000 public sector jobs.
To this end, 26 departments joined forces last year. A total of 144 projects were implemented, including "Gwangjin-type Happy Jobs" and "Seoul Donghaeng Jobs (Public Work)." Public jobs were stably provided in various sectors such as culture and sports, parks and green spaces, healthcare, safety management, and care services.
Support for vulnerable employment groups was also emphasized. Jobs were created for 2,624 seniors and 157 people with disabilities, achieving results in vulnerable groups. Additionally, to assist young people struggling due to the slowdown in the job market, "Gwangjin Youth Jobs" and "New Deal Jobs" were operated. As a result, a total of 6,197 people succeeded in finding employment.
District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "We are striving to create quality jobs to alleviate employment anxiety amid the ongoing economic crisis," and added, "We will promote successful job policies so that residents can lead stable lives."
