Gyeonggi-do to Train 6,000 Talents in Semiconductor and Advanced Industries This Year
Gyeonggi Province plans to train over 6,000 talents this year to strengthen the competitiveness of future advanced industries such as semiconductors, bio, mobility, and artificial intelligence (AI).
To this end, Gyeonggi Province will invest a budget of 11 billion KRW, three times the 3.7 billion KRW spent last year. The goal of training 6,000 talents is more than double last year's approximately 2,500.
On the 9th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it plans to cultivate over 6,000 professionals through a total of 17 projects, including specialized and on-site workforce training, to address the shortage of manpower in advanced industries caused by rapid technological changes.
By industry sector, the targets are ▲1,300 in semiconductors ▲1,500 in bio ▲200 in mobility ▲700 in artificial intelligence (AI).
Additionally, in the digital transformation sector, a similar scale investment of 800 million KRW as last year is planned, aiming to train about 700 talents.
Separately, Gyeonggi Province will provide education for 1,600 entrepreneurs to revitalize venture startups.
