Han Jong-hee, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, said, "Samsung Electronics has invested for more than 10 years to realize AI that reconstructs the entire industry beyond technology and makes life more convenient," adding, "We will continue to strive so that anyone can easily and safely utilize AI in daily life."
Samsung Tackles Security Challenges Emerging in the AI Era
Samsung Electronics stated that security is the top priority in the AI era and explained the need for security solutions suitable for the hyper-connected era. To this end, the company expanded Samsung Knox Matrix and Samsung Knox Vault services based on Samsung Knox, which was launched as a mobile security platform 10 years ago.
Samsung Knox Matrix mutually monitors devices to isolate problematic ones, helping to maintain the security of other devices safely. It is scheduled to be applied to Samsung Electronics' TVs and Family Hub refrigerators this year. Samsung Knox Vault, expanded to the Galaxy A series, protects sensitive personal information such as PIN codes, passwords, and patterns.
To create a sustainable society, Samsung not only expanded the use of recycled materials in products but also engaged in new collaborations. Through this, approximately 14% of the total plastic used in products in 2022 applied recycled resin. Research to increase this proportion is ongoing.
Through new cooperation with Tesla, Samsung enabled integration of Tesla electric vehicles, solar panels, and home batteries (Powerwall) with SmartThings. Using SmartThings' 'AI Saving Mode,' which automatically reduces electricity consumption in the home, battery power can be maximized to prepare for power outages.
