Yeoju Yeogang Hangul Garden and Yangpyeong Studio Garden Designated as 'Gyeonggi-do Private Gardens'
‘Yeogang Hangeul Garden’ in Wolsong-dong, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and ‘Studio Garden’ in Gangsang-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun have been designated as private gardens in Gyeonggi-do.
Private gardens are one of the types of gardens under the "Act on the Creation and Promotion of Arboretums and Gardens," created and operated by corporations, organizations, or individuals.
Since the establishment of the Garden Industry Division in January last year, Gyeonggi-do has designated three private gardens, and with the addition of these two, the total number of private gardens has increased to five.
Yeogang Hangeul Garden in Yeoju and Studio Garden in Yangpyeong secured more than 40% green area, which is the registration standard for private gardens, and are equipped with convenience facilities such as parking lots and restrooms.
Yeogang Hangeul Garden, a 2,371㎡ garden created by the Yeoju City Forestry Cooperative, features a patchwork-style garden harmoniously designed with Hangeul, giving it a unique character different from typical gardens. It is connected with a garden education center and a garden supplies store, allowing visitors to experience various garden cultures.
Studio Garden is a 2,380㎡ privately owned garden, where garden facilities and sculptures are directly designed, showcasing individuality that can only be seen in private gardens.
It is a comfortable garden that naturally blends with the surrounding natural landscape without any sense of incongruity. In particular, by appropriately planting vegetation to soften the strong lines of the architecture, a high-quality space has been created.
